Where is the Center located and how do I get there?
The Center is located exactly on Route 2 at 65.5 Km South of Buenos Aires - Argentina. Since a large part of this route is a pretty new highway, you can get there rather quickly, say, about 45 minutes from downtown BsAs. If you are driving from BsAs, you should get on the Route 2, which is the Highway that goes to Mar del Plata, at km # 65.5 you'll see a sign that says "Campos de Roca - Country Club", this is a dirt road to your right, take it and at about 500 ms you'll see a sign that says "Aerodromo", that's where the FlyRanch is. If you're in Buenos Aires and don't have transportation, just give us a call and we might arrange something for you. You might be able to take a Bus from Downtown or just ride along with some of the local folks (bring cookies).View Map

So, what's does the FlyRanch look alike? Are there any mountains?
Nope. The FlyRanch is located on Flatlands. It is part of Organizacion LimiteAeroclub with a 800 m grass runway. This airport has almost zero flight activity except us and some Skydivers. It is surrounded by the lovely countryside of the province of Buenos Aires. The flying methods are Aerotowing for hanggliding, also called “Air to Air” towing (more on this later) and winchtowing for paragliders. Here, you’ll fly over endless flat fields generating lots of thermals with enough trees to make nice shots, but not to interfere with your landing. You won’t have problems with the landing sites, they are big enough to land a B747 and there are no wild farmers that chase you with their rifles, they only might invite you to have some beers with them.

Do I need to know anything about aerotowing? Is it safe?
No know how required - and - it’s the safest method to fly hangliders. We can teach you right here. The more experience you carry, the better. After a couple of tandem flights, the instructor will tell you if you’re ready to go solo. Yes, it is very very safe, believe me. Absolute beginners -> FAQ’s How to fly Hang Gliders and Paragliders
Should I bring my flight gear?
Bring your harness with you (in case of emergency we can even provide harnesses), -beginners won't need anything-, the rest of the equipment you can rent on the FR. No airline troubles anymore, no transport problems - you can even buy your equipment here at the Flyshop and FlyBoutique. Please let us know before, so we can reserve a glider for you or what ever you need.
What about accommodations, lodging, etc.
Depending on your preferences, we can arrange accomodation in Buenos Aires City, in a centric, fully furnished appartments (see it at www.apartabasto.4t.com), owned and managed by a hang glider pilot (transport to FR on weekends will be included), so you will enjoy the city life at night, restaurants, theatres, shopping, tango, and more. The perfect combination with your flying day!!.
Also, camping is possible on the campground besides the restaurant on the FR. Showers, bathrooms and pool are available
How's the weather like?
Temperatures range from 0 to 38 degress celsius throughout the year. The Winter goes by rather quickly and does not affect the flying activity. It never snows in BsAs. In other words, we fly all-year-round. No kidding. The overall weather is fine; never too hot nor too cold. The rainy seasson begins on late September with the Spring and lasts for about a month. Besides of that, the sun’s always shinning. Good thermals!

What kind of people will I meet on the FR?
Great people, just like you and me. Not only pilots hanging around talking about their worst or best experiences, but also girlfriends, boyfriends and families sunbathing or playing games and there will be “fiesta” every weekend or on a rainy day for sure.

Will there be always somebody on the FR?
Yes, on weekends we will work full time, during the week it will be a little bit easier, but you will always meet some of the FR-guys to provide full service. You can always reach us on our handyphone, give us a call and we prepare everything for you. Any other question, just mail it to us, we will answer every letter! -all photos will be returned :)
